AMAZING warm potato salad with corn and some bacon in there. THE BOMB! Burger was ******* GREAT too. One of the better ones in LA...the flavor combos were great and a nice smoky char on the burger.

had dinner at the Baazar @ the SLS Hotel (the bar area only as I was just drinking and eating) 2nd time here, got some tapas and some beers. (photos are from yelp) Had these chicken croquettes, which tasted like chicken pot pie inside but like a mozerella stick. pretty good.
l
the philly cheese steak...it was "air bread" (kind of more like a cracker) with some sauce inside and sliced beef on top, kind of like sushi..it was 2 bites, $8. Pretty good though.

Jicama sliced paper thin with a dollop of guacamole and they had a frito-lay corn chip in the middle for crunch. It was refreshing but not that good. Well they were good but they just kind of fell apart. Salt cod fritters were quite good with a garlic aioli.

It was lunch, actually...after the overload of calories I don't have the energy to find the lunch thread.

Hamburg Steak! Loved those things. I think its the gravy they put on top (demi-glaze?), meant to be like a Salisbury Steak and eaten with rice.

Actually, I meant that it is served with rice...not on a bun.

My Saturday night at Incanto in SF:

Started with:
-Acorn & chestnut soup, foie gras & porcini
-Nerbone lampredotto, dandelion greens & salsa piccante

Second course (small portion):
-Parsnip & bone marrow ravioli & Sangiovese (absolutely incredible -- one of the best dishes I have had in a while)

Entree:
-Pork shoulder, pumpkin agrodolce & creamy polenta

Desert:
-Rogue river blue, honey crème caramel & pistachios

3 flights of wine (three 2.5oz glasses per flight)

Marinaded fresh, organic chicken wings in fresh squeezed lemon juice, canola oil, hot sauce, brown sugar, and Aloha shoyu. Then I smoked them for two hours with hickory. Fall apart tender with the smoke and lemon juice contrasting nicely.

Just now recovering from a food coma weekend...

Absinthe Brasserie and Bar on Friday... course favorites as recommended to me by chef Lauren. She came out to say hi after recognizing my ticket, and it ended up being a paparazzi moment as people from neighboring tables lit her up with the red camera focus beams to snap photos while we were talking.

Love the plating on the foie. And what a great and whimsical idea to put beef tongue with sweetbreads.

What did you think of Family meal collective? Food looks pretty solid.
