What do you think of this briefcase I bought?

I know it's not super, and I've heard Trafalgar isn't as top notch as it used to be, but I got it for $160 or so new. And after looking around, it seemed like the best for the price--that Kenneth Cole reaction **** costs like $200 and seems awful.

Anyway:

Worth it? I don't have a briefcase, but I need one.

A bit too much going on for my liking, but for $160, a decent deal for a leather bag. You can always upgrade.

Not to my taste but not too bad overall.

All that matters is if you like it and that the price was right. Not my cup of tea but it ain't my briefcase.

Ugly but functional. Also looks cheap.
Do you need a good, classy looking briefcase in your job
to enhance your standing? If you do. this creature is a detriment.,

I think the picture misleads a bit. Though it is a plush looking leather, it is actually a pretty sleek bag according to the dimensions. That shade of brown is a bit brassy for my liking, but for $160 - it looks like a great bargain from the original price, and will likely wear very well.

+1 These bags are ubiquitous among the decidedly unstylish commuters coming into NYC every day on Metro North and NJ Transit. Always overstuffed with too many papers and a corporate issue Dell laptop. If you're looking for something with character, personality and style, this is surely not it. If you just want something practical with lots of storage and pockets, this might work.

thanks for the input, everyone.

I just received it, it is not really as bulky as it looks in these photos, and the leather seems very nice, and for the money, it seems pretty solid.

It does have my corporate issue Dell laptop in it, but I don't really see what the problem is with this.

ruminations on mediocrity:

There's no problem with it. there's nothing great about it either.

i've learned the sign of a mediocre product is when I describe it as "pretty okay"

like someone asks you "hey what kind of shirt is that". you say "oh this? my girlfriend bought it for me, its a Van Heusen from TJ maxx, its pretty okay."
