I actually owned a pair in gray and absolutely loved them. It's slim cut and the flannel is so ******* warm. Didn't fit my style but I'm sure there are those who can pull it off well.

I have these in the grey. I like them. The flannel is really warm, they're really comfortable and I like the way they fit me.

Maybe because some of us are bored with wearing only dark demin or chinos for our casual outfits-- just look at the WAYWT fits and notice how few are willing to deviate from those two pant choices! Both those pant styles tend to lack visual interest. The raw denim is often so dark and uniform in color that it can look bland and suffocating, and chinos are typically plain uniform fabric with little texture and a relative absence of details such as pockets and threading.

This type of scheme places a lot of responsibility on whatever you're wearing on top to deliver visual interest. Thus, if you like wearing a simple t-shirt with these pant styles, the overall outfit can frequently look very bland. But if the pants have some extra visual interest, often you can get away with something simpler on top. It's all about variety.

Regarding last cargo pant posted... While they're not my personal favorite, they're just like slim fit chinos but with two extra pockets on them. In the right context, a lot of things can work that people are quick to dismiss here. I'm thinking of that outfit Fuuma posted a couple weeks ago involving carrot shaped pants-- a style normally disliked by everyone, yet he made it work.

First pair or second? They're from the same company and the same price. The first one is labelled "dove grey" which gives me pause, but then again, it looks nothing like that color in the picture.
