I wish I could wear jeans, blue pants to work... if those were khaki i'd wear them every friggin day. the details are stellar, 'specially the pen pocket, i always toss fine point sharpies in my back pocket only to lose them anytime i pick something up or bend or twist. thats seriously an awesome feature. i really like the jeans man, keep up the work.

Why can't you be fatter?

(assuming the samples are tailored after you)

Ridiculous, I want one of everything. Those trousers are sick, and I second zissou's idea for a persimmon trouser as well.

Out of curiousity are your doing production in California?

Hey dude, thanks for the support...at the end of the day my aesthetic does lean towards the work wear vibe, how can it not? Simple, sturdy denim pants were made for work and that's what I design. I cannot deny that. I'm totally inspired by early 1900s garments...have you seen There Will Be Blood? Though they weren't wearing a lot of denim everything was done impeccably and looked like it had history, that's what I'm drawn to. I'm definitely aware of the work wear trend and when I design I keep in mind. I walk past RRL everyday (being in AmRag) and am inspired by what they do, but I know that that is not what I do, all I can hope for is that my perspective is one that people can identify with, I'm not here to remake workmens clothes from the early 20th century, my approach is to take elements and ideas from that era and update them (put my spin on them) and make them more relevant/modern. Anyway, I'm rambling, sorry.

To answer your question, YES all production is done here in LA. I'm looking over the sewers shoulders at every step of the process. It costs more, but the sewers I use are amazing, and it is worth it to be totally hands on.

What was zissou's idea? I missed that.

I'll be doing a new production on the brown trousers in December. If you really want a pair I can hold some back before I send them to wash. Let me know if you're interested.

Trouser Sample - waist measure out to 33...keep in mind that these sit on your hips not your waist. These were made out of a 13oz Kaihara Mills Japanese wide goods denim. It is an overdyed fabric. When it breaks down you see both shades of black and blue. I really like this denim and I will be incorporating it into my line down the road.

Standard Issue - This is my Vintage fit jean. It resembles the '47 501 LVC but has been slimmed down in the leg, the rise is also an 1" shorter.
