Banana Republic, not that bad

I have to disagree heartily with the OP, Banana Republic has become the epitome of BAD business casual outfits. Every 20 something who wants to look "professional" buys a tacky BR striped shirt, which they have a seemingly endless array of. Five or six years ago the stuff was a bit less tacky, the knits were nicer, but man their stuff is awful. I bought some t-shirts off their website a year ago on a whim and the cotton was seriously worse than the 3 for $5 t-shirts that they sell at wal mart. Why a thread like this gets made is beyond me.

It's the de-styling of styleforum.

I vote to merge all these garbage threads into one MONSTER garbage mall brand thread or delete them altogether never to be seen again or talked about again.

this, yes. ****** business casual is not fashion and 90% of the stuff that BR carries is definitely not stylish. Its not a price issue either, there are plenty of brands around the BR price level that are enjoyed on styleforum, especially with the workwear brands. But man this **** needs to be squirreled and done with.

The only point this thread serves is for making fun of BR. Beyond that, it's boring.

+1 I find the heritage stuff to be worse than the regular line and agree that the fit is often off.

This is one of my major issues with Banana. A shirt there used to be $49.99, now they want $79.99 for a shirt. I have no problem paying more if the quality is there, but they decided to reposition the brand as a "classier, dressier" mall brand (thus as someone else commented, you don't see the workwear trend that J. Crew has done a great job hitting) without addressing their quality issues.
