Info on Penfield

Does anyone know about the brand Penfield? I'm looking at a sale shirt in size small. Not sure about fit. Anyone know how the sizes run? I checked the web site and they say a small is around 38 in the chest. Not sure if it is a tent or not. Help if you can.

In my experience, Penfield runs smaller than tagged.

Not sure but if you are interested in a lightly worn down vest from f/w 08 (black outter/purple flannel lining) size small hit me up. I'm not actively trying to sell it but if someone wants it...

Penfield sizes can vary quite a lot depending on the garment - their jackets tend to be quite big sizes, but it can depend on the cut/style. Generally their shirts and t-shirts are fairly regular sizes, but if your not sure on any of them its worth asking for some measurements first.

Their AW09 stuff was online a few days ago, but checked the website yesterday and there seems to be some sort of error on there....

These guys have all got fairly good ranges in (depending on where your shopping from!)

What do you guys think of this? I'm not so sure about the leather on the shoulders. I can't decide if it looks tacky or not.

I have this one and I think it's great. I posted some pics in my latest WAYWT. I found that the vest fits TTS.

wanting to kop. $165 for a 60/40 seems pretty good.

I wanted the Kasson jacket in tan, ordered my usual size (M), and it fit like an oversized garbage bag. Didn't try on an S, so I can't say with 100% certainty to size down, but keep in mind that their jackets run large.

The coat seemed well made. Their return policy is pretty lax, so I say give it a shot.

I fond that the jackets can be quite over sized. especially the Kasson jacket. A small is more like a med. and med more like a large.

most of the other rages are OK fits stated on the label.

Size down 1 for outerwear it seams. I have a knit shirt that i also sized down 1 on for a proper fit.

depends on the outerwear i think - the rockford jacket and vest fit TTS, the parkas are +1 size.

i dont know about others, but i once purchased a penfield nylon jacket with goose filling while back and i had to return it because the thing kept shedding goose feathers constantly. from day 1 to 10 days later, the thing was either defective or just shoddy construction. i complained and they accepted a full return.
