Today - from the sample pass box I got three L'ARtisan samples: Tea for Two, Voleur de Roses, and MEchant Loup. Sadly, I only labeled the T42 sample - the other two were mysteries, until last night when I put one to each arm and sniffed for roses.

That said - I liked the combination so much that I'm wearing it today. It is a strange, beautiful anise-rose, kind of like Kingdom without the Cumin (BO) note. One without the other is fine, but IMHO inadequate in comparison to the combination.

Give VdR a full tryout. I wasn't sold on it at first but it grew on me pretty quickly. I've got another TF PB musk to try out today but none of these scents are really that great. Don't know if I even want to bother. Saks called and told me that they can't find the only bottle of Cuir de Russie pure parfum in the company.

Looks like I lost out on that one.

Is there a difference between J. Peterman's 1903 Cologne and their 1903 Cologne - Woody? Has anyone on the boards tried either?

Thanks

Today: Knize Ten, but one was from a bottle and the other was a decant. I thought there were differences between the two, but perhaps I chose the wrong decant. hmmm.

Went with Tom Ford PB Musk Pure yesterday. Powdery with a musk background. It seems he just spliced a musk note into 4 different women's perfumes. Really weak combinations in all 4 instances. Oh well.

Wore Yatagan yesterday. I applied it in the locker room at the pool I swim at and I think the old man getting dressed next to me cringed from the smell. The top notes on initial application are brutal on that one.

Today - Trying (again) the T&H Trafalgar scent. Thus far, the T&H smells I've tried have been simply refined derivatives of other scents. Trafalgar might just break that mold, though.

I'm doing a "split" of Creed Millesime Imperial. Is any one interested in getting a decant of MI? It's extremely cheaper getting a portion of a split. All prices include atomizer (spray bottle), packaging and shipping. The flacon is from fragrancenet.com and the atomizers are from Accessories for Fragrances.

100mL $67
50mL $39
30mL $29

Please let know ASAP. The sooner we fill the split, the sooner we can get the fragrance.

Hitting on the S.African sexy makeup woman at Niemans today and found out that there is a new EdP version of Terre de Hermes. It smells a bit more green and earthy to me but I've already had two female compliments.

Today - Thanks to Rach's suggestion and the day-long thunderstorms of yesterday: A crisp, dry scent: Guerlain Winter Delice.

I haven't quite fallen for this one, largely because it's a rather brassy scent.
