I really dislike the direction they're going now. They've completely jumped on the workwear bandwagon. The amount of stuff I actually like there now is about the amount of womenswear they used to have a year or two ago

Crows really have a beautiful color to them, I want something in such a color, the closest thing I can think of is dark violet velvet, though even this doesn't come close to the depth of color.

It was pretty popular FW06. Burgundy, port, or wine seem to be popular FW colors in alternate years, trading places regularly with purple (which I dislike.) Brown and grey also seem to take turns. I like both browns and greys, so if I'm pairing them, half the time the pieces are from alternate FW seasons.

This. Always wanted a deep purple dinner jacket (sup jet) Love grey, but spot on fok it does tend to rotate.

More like 3 months, when their temporary lease is over.

Blackbird is a pretty decent store for a small market, and seems to provide a little bit of everything for everyone. I really don't understand why Nicole decided to open up this space. It's not like the Candy store, where she had the (very small) space anyway; and there's already a sizable section in Blackbird with some decent vintage as well as RRL, Billy Kirk, etc...

Viking steeze would be better for this neighborhood.

Also, you might want to check the current edition of Fantastic Man which has a picture of Hamish Bowles wearing a purple dinner jacket...

I don't know the reasoning behind it but they apparently have wanted to do something like this for awhile. All of the americana stuff has been moved into this new spot, and the main blackbird store will keep the contemporary lines. On mention of which, all of those Julius boots are incredible.
