Double-soled shoes typically require a break-in period before the soles develop a "hinge" where you flex them when you walk. Until that happens (half a dozen wearings or so) they can be painful to wear.Originally Posted by Manton
I like the reduced flex of a double sole, because I'm prone to pain in the metatarsal joint from excessive flexing. I guess I'll bite. The only thing that affects your height is the heel, and having a double sole doesn't mean a higher heel. I'm having trouble believing this isn't obvious, but try lifting your toes off the ground while keeping your heels stationary. Do you feel taller?
