I like the reduced flex of a double sole, because I'm prone to pain in the metatarsal joint from excessive flexing. It's actually what first drew me to SF, when I googled for companies that offer double-oak soles. They do take a while to break in though, and until the "hinge" develops there tends to be more heel slippage (which may cause blisters if the shoes are snug in the heel).
