Dark brown would work perfectly well with navy and mid grey.

I think "unless you're outside of England" is more accurate.

Those shoes are going to be tore up very fast, if you are purchasing only 1 pair of dress shoes for everyday use. What's the dress code? Is it just slacks and a collared shirt? Then, you can get away with bluchers or dress slip-ons. You need 2-3 pairs plus shoe trees for all of them, when you are wearing sneakers. Ideally, you shouldn't wear the same shoe on back to back days. The same shoe shouldn't be worn all day. You would change out of them, when you get home or go out. You can spend $129-170 on 1 pair of AE seconds from AE Shoe bank. http://www.styleforum.net/showthread...63#post2497463 For another $100, buy 2 pairs of lace-ups or dress slip-ons for $50 each at DSW. Then, you can spend $30-40 on 3 shoe trees. You will also need to get matching belts and matching shoe polish.

Details I never considered. Thanks.

For shoe colors, get at least 1 dark brown and 1 black, the 3rd pair can be of either color. You can also get burgundy, but that will force you to buy another belt and more shoe polish. With a $300 limit, funds are precious and need to be spent wisely. Dark brown can be worn with lt grey, charcoal grey, navy, and tan. Just don't wear them with black pants. Black is safe for most colors of pants, but a brown belt and shoes works better with tan or khaki pants.

Don't forget to get a cheap shoe horn for $3-4. It will save the back of your shoes.
