I think some people here like to take a sort of morale highground by sticking to the most 'authentic' 'genuine' 'simple' 'timeless' 'classic' designs and while I do agree to some extent with these principles I think it's silly that when anything that for example looks trendy gets posted these people feel like it is their obligation to point out that it is 'overdesigned' or just say 'no' as if to say nobody should ever wear it. To me this is a big step backwards as far as fashion is concerned, and it's almost as big a step back as to warrant them start posting in MC (just kidding).Originally Posted by XenoX101
Well, the pieces that involve the word 'overdesigned' around here are usually leather jackets, and that is completely true. Most of the leather jackets that I've seen on here that people say are overdesigned are usually: a basis of a Dior Homme style pattern + a crazy/not so crazy aniline dyed color + a faux distressing treatment to leave it's DH roots and bring it into the cool guy Rick Owens camp + a few extra ***** and bobbles to keep it from looking like a Black Scissors jacket.Originally Posted by impolyt_one
