Not to be argumentative, but one fears you are labouring under a misapprehension, Sir.

Peccary gloves have been hand stitched in Germany at least since it was "West". Illiari (is this the confirmed spelling now?), on the other hand, is apparently a Peruvian maker only recently of popular Norte Americano import, much less European.

Assuming you are correct, the peccary leather for the gloves still came from south america.

So are you saying the German sewn somehow makes it "better" than Peruvian sewn?

B)There is not even a hint of such an implication. The inference is your'n. Merely, humbly, attempting to correct Mr. Derm's perceptual assumption. Although, being south of the equator, the Peruvian artisans do use a reverse twist sewing thread, with all the implications inherent. On the other hand, the German glovers employ Bavarian gnawing grannies to "enhance" the peccary bristle marks. So, it may be a toss-up as to desirablility.

Postman dropped by today with my Chester Jeffries order, Paris in mocca brown Cape leather with red silk lining:

Only provided one measurement of my hand (as described on order page), but the fit turned out pretty damn good, save for a wee bit of extra length on my index and last fingers. So happy with my order that I ordered a pair for the girlfriend as well!

International shipping costs 5GBP, and as always with the Royal Mail, arrives very swiftly.

Thanks! Mine are machine made, so I can't speak for handmade orders. My gf's gloves will be handmade, so we'll see how long they take.

Order was placed on 22 Sep, arrived today (from UK to Finland) on 12 Oct.. just 3 weeks, not too bad!

Here's an action shot of my Chester Jeffries gloves (ordered last winter so they have a few months of Minnesota Winter wear). IIRC, they took about 4 weeks to receive.

gshen: nice ones- yes Im aware of that company and think that for the quality they have really fair prices, too...(or is it gauche to say so?). I'm thinking of also ordering from them sooner or later... Cary: like those too, also the jacket (cashmere?) looks really cozy- must have been difficult to get all the blood out of it.

For now I bought these (Pecari) and the colour is ok for me too- they are thinly lined with wool I believe:
