We all got caught by a "no direct image link" trap. If the webserver detects that you are following a link directly to an image from another website, they can send you a different, and as is the curren case, horrific image instead. This is effective as the person hotlinking is often times banned due to the results.
If you visit http://www.webwhitenoise.com/media/1/ and find the image in the list and click on it, you'll most likely see the intended smiley.
