Downright incredible, considering other posters state the leather is of >$1k quality.

Black Scissors has stuff for $240. Doubt the quality is anywhere as nice as the ToJ is hyped to be, but it really isn't bad for what you pay for. Tons better than the **** you find at Zara, H&M, Topman, etc...

the toj leather jackets are made to measure right? I'm pretty thin so that would be huge since nothing off the rack fits me well

What I need is a pair of shoes that bridges the gap between casual (Chucks) and formal (Allen Edmonds)... Edit - basically, something I can wear with khakies, sort of like boat shoes but not for summer... I'm looking for plain black that just flies under the radar. I have difficult to fit feet, want to spend under $100, and live in a snowy country... Which ones should I get, or do you recomend something else. I'm leaning towards these... Keds Dinias

but am also considering these... Converse Zambotto

Fred Perry

Vans

Lacoste

Thanks

None of those bridge the casual-formal gap--all of those are easily casual. For that, you'd need some boots or something.

I'm looking for a nice simple black leather ankle boot under $300. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Master-Classter,

None of those shoes are proper for the winter in a snowy area.

master-classter:

all nice choices but pretty casual. on a 1-100 scale the all black might move up a couple of points compared to a multi color shoe. a low profile boot might do the trick also. lots of boots on sf arent exactly low profile, but there are plenty available. only issue with them might be price.

I'm in the market for a new winter coat. I want something that I can wear everyday, and will look good with a dress shirt/polo/t-shirt, so something more casual. I liked the University Coat on J.Crew's website, but I was told the fit is not that flattering. I want something a bit slimmer, but could pack a sweater and scarf in if need be (so not too slim). I own a pea coat already, but don't wear it much because I don't like how far down my thigh it hits. I'm looking for something that'll hit a little lower or at the waist.

Any recommendation is helpful!

Hrmm...if you're looking at J.Crew I assume you're aiming for that kind of steeze...

How about a bedford from EG? Or Woolrich's Pen Jacket in flannel which I hear is very warm?

Let me know if these are up your alley or if you're looking for a different style.

I'm looking for something a little heavier. I do like the J. Crew styles though, for the most part. edit: If I could find something that actually looks like the university coat, but actually fits the way it does on J.Crew's site, that would probably be good. I wouldn't mind something shorter though, with a similar style and wool. I'm just not sure where I could look or if something even exists. I also like the Oilcloth Langham jacket on their site.

This, maybe? This is slightly different from J.Crew (more utility-like).

Sorry, winter coats aren't my strong suit...
