Ordered it back in July. They said the delivery date wasn't supposed to be until October but I guess they got done sooner. The Antea dates are nuts. I'm trying to see if I can find a used one but there as a beater but there isn't anything floating around out there.

My first watchporn post, and reposted from a watch band inquiry I made before. This is my first foray into finer watches and I'm quite pleased with the result.

I received this Omega rose gold watch from Vintage Watch Restoration and the watchstrap ( from Banda) today, and put the two together. Overall I'm very happy with the look of the two. The original strap looked fine, but the dark burgundy croc strap does seem to bring out the nice rose gold better. It's hard to tell in my pictures, it appears darker in the pics than it actually is.

Bruno from http://www.VintageWatchRestoration.com was great to work with, communicates well and dealt with me very fairly and professionally. I'm going to be eyeing his site in the future for another acquisition.

Now my next duty is to find a pink gold original buckle. I was outbid on one on ebay. From what I could gather, they tend to go for $100-150 and I gave up after it went over $178. The yellow gold colored quick release that I have on the new strap isn't working for me. And last but not least, it might be sacrilegious but I think I am going to have the hands blued. I think that would look nice even though it's not what the watch originally looked like.

Anyone with a tip on a good place to source an original buckle, I'd be deeply indebted. Thanks.

I'm looking to acquire a dressier watch. I currently have an SKX007 diver and I have become somewhat of a watch enthusiast. Currently I am trying to achieve a certain look that I'm getting help on here

http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=141205

and I want a somewhat cheap automatic watch (around $200-$300??) from a relatively well known brand. Budget can be stretched a tad bit. My dad is willing to spend money on this watch but I don't want to buy anything too nice. I really like the Stowa Antea but it is harder to convince my dad to buy a brand he's never heard of.

I'm kind of thinking of the Tissot Le Locle but I'm open to other suggestions. Not really sure of the Le Locle price though.

Also quick question - Do you care if the color of your watch strap matches your belt/shoes?

Also got an email yesterday that my Stowa Marine Auto is ready for shipping. I ordered 28 July and was told to expect shipment mid November, so its 2 months early.

Bit of a threadjack but what are you guys using to transport your watches for travel and so forth? I'm back and forth between my home on the weekends and an apt in a different town during the week and want some options. I usually pick one watch for the week and stick with it but sometimes I get bored. I was looking at Michael Sanders "Timetote" on the TZ board but its a bit expensive for what it is. I'm totally anal about keeping my watches in pristine condition and cheaper cases dont look like they protect the watch very well. I'll probably go for the timetote but wanted to see what others are using.

I'm using a Schedoni case - have a look at my blog below, it's one of the most recent posts...

I use a case like this. I never feel the need to take more than 3 watches when I travel
