Is this coat cool or dumpy?

I was wondering if I could get some opinions on this car coat. I have this in black. The feel of the leather is incredibly soft. It's funny that days after getting this coat I read The Seven Style Mistakes We've All Made (and how to fix them) page 212 of Oct. GQ. Number one is the schlumpy leather jacket. I'll be sending this one back unless someone wants it take it off my hands. Eclipse? It's a Italian 50R in black NWT.

i think it looks simple and elegant. in black, this would definitely compliment or exude a clean cut look or sporty style (going for a masculine style would lend too much to badass wannabe scenario). i think it makes for a good staple in a wardrobe and could be used with a good variety of outfits. although, it would lean more towards a casual occasion than professional.

I have never really been a big fan of leather, the coat is a nice color though but find something in a microsuade or a diffrent fabric.

Hmmm, I find many of the replies interesting.

The coat itself looks perfectly ok. I think whether it was dumpy would depend entirely on the fit. If it's not somewhat fitted, it might appear schlumpy or dumpy. But then again, I'm a fan of leather done right. I love the feel.

But in the end, it seems pricey if you don't really like it. You could get a nice suit for the money if it's not dazzling you after getting it home.
