Please critique 2 OTR suits--Isaia & Oxxford

Need critique and tailoring advice for 1st pair of nice suits. How well did I do? Neither have been altered at all, so obviously need sleeve & pant hems, but looking for more precise comments.

I am in my late 20s and work in a casual environment. My MC wardrobe is far behind my SW&D wardrobe. The goal here is for 2 versatile suits that will get me through most situations. One is intended to be more conservative & the other is more stylish. Both are blue, but with subtle monochromatic textures.

I promise to give back advice and knowledge once I'm a bit more experienced over on this side of the board.

The collar might need to be lowered on both (the wrinkles on the upper back near the neck) and the Oxxford in particular could use some waist suppression.

Personally, I think you need something a but more form fitting. The suits don't quite match your shape. Perhaps RLPL, or a different cut in Isaia.

Great garments. You simply need to form a relationship with a good tailor. Very few of us can find a perfect OTR fit. If the shoulders work and they appear to than the tailor can make them right. Perry

Only looked through isaia pics. It's a very nice suit, but it looks generally too full. Perhaps one size smaller would give a nicer fit, if it is not to tight in the shoulder. You could also try on a V-base, which may fit you better.

My main concern was that the Isaia might be too small/slim for me, but I'm getting the opposite feedback. It is a 48. I can barely squeeze into the pants and I considered the 50, but thought this looked best in the shoulders.

The Oxxford is a 40 obviously cut quite generous and could use some waist suppression. However this is somewhat the desired look with this suit, no? Is it still too large?

Both suits need to be a bit more form fitting on the chest/waist area and have the sleeves slimmed down and shortened a bit, to show some cuff.

Personally, I prefer suits that are a bit shorter in length (where I can make a fist and my fingers are just below the jacket). Not everyone is fond of that look though...

The sleeves are too long, but it seems to fit well everywhere else.

OTR the Isaia has a better silhouette.

I think they'd both look great after you let your tailor have at it.

I do prefer the fit of the Isaia on you, but I'm also partial to that brand. +1 on a competent tailor being able to make either of them work well for you.

Also, while they've still got the tags on them, I'd personally think about getting one blue and one gray if you're buying two new suits at the same time with the notion of making them your two nice go-to suits. I understand that this might be limited by what the store has in stock / on sale, but it's something to consider.

great starting fit OTR.

as has been said, the sleeves, slight waist suppresion on #2 and maybe tightening the sleeves on #2 a bit, and you have two winners.

good buys. very nice.
