I don't think its a matter of size though, it's just the cut is not flattering for you, it is too traditional of a cut and suits a stockier type of guy, I wish I knew the technical reasons for this but for now you can just settle for "made for conservative middle aged guy's build". As Tiburon said, a slimmer fit would work.

Keep the Epi, but thanks. I've picked out an acoustic Yamaha already that's everything I want and is at a low price.

All I want from you is a leather jacket (****)

I'm tempted to proxy this Julius jacket in the 'khaki" color. Woud go great with pretty much anything, and the treatment and color are really nice. At Japanese markup, even with the proxy and shipping fees, it's still less than markup on of European and American brands:

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/anchor-mind/277blm8/

Problem is that I already have 1 billion jackets, and another on the way. The other problem is that a size 3 is virtually impossible to find. At 165 lbs and 5'11", if not a monster, and pretty big guy in Japan. Wierd going from a small medium to a large/extra large...

That's an awesome jacket. Go for it.

I feel the same way about jackets/outerwear... I often find a piece that I really really like, but then I look at my wardrobe and realize I already have so much.

So if someone has to pass on a sweet jacket could this serve as consolation? i.e. "oh there's always sweet outerwear every FW"

Two years ago the thought of dropping a grand on clothing in a week would have caused me to laugh uproariously or to have a heart attack. Today I'm fine with the idea.

Some random thoughts that I'm having in the store:

1. Boots look way better worn in than brand new.

2. Girls in small mens Barbour jackets is kind of played out in Brooklyn, but I still like it

3. I wish that more people would resist the urge to use technical running shoes as normal weekend walking-around shoes.

4. I need better sweaters. I bought most of them at Uniqlo, and after a small amount of wear, they really look like scheisse. I'm going to buy an SNS or equivalent piece for the Fall.

I'm amazed more people don't buy nice knits, the one area where quality differences are substantially large.
