Of the product-centric blogs, hyr is my favorite - although over time I've gotten tired of the endless stream of new products. I definitely respect what they're doing, but it's too materialist for me and it fuels an endless cycle of buying stuff and then getting dissatisfied with it for obscure reasons.

I still like The Sartorialist and Garance Dore because they're inspiring, and I like youmightfindyourself.com and youhavebrokentheinternet.com the same way. Less product, more photography....

Sorry, but it's insane that you posted this considering the fact that your own blog is so consistently laden with misinformation and is so lopsided, obviously favoring brands that you seek to profit from through your "store" and "publication". Not only is it incredibly amateurish, it's unethical.

This post for example is just wrong. If you did any research (it's called fact checking, you do run a magazine, don't you?) you would know that.

Make no sudden movements and the SF natives will not attack you

If you guys are interested in well-written blogs, the two best are: www.atimetoget.com & men.style.com/news/blog The GQ makes sense, as they have plenty of professional writers at their disposal. But A Time to Get is by far the best written blog I've come across. Consistently entertaining and insightful posts. Never recycles anything. And the dude who runs it is really incredible with an iPhone camera. Also, I'd have to agree that Ryan's rant was unnecessary and unprofessional, though I've often had the same thoughts about Selectism (among other websites.) It's as if everyone has spent too much time looking at japanese clothing sites, so that now everything they write seems like it's put through an internet translator.

I really like Gravity Pope (Tailored Goods), and I like the Vancouver store, but there are already 2 Vancouver/Victoria area affiliates, and the brands that they carry are already represented by other affiliates. I may revisit inviting them, depending on what happens with Hejfina now that Heiji has announced her intention to close or sell the store, since that will leave a gap (no more Robert Geller or Opening Ceremony.) We'll see. The other consideration is that they are interested and that there is someone there who is willing to put in the time. We do have some other nice plans in the works.

If you're worried about over-saturating the vancouver area with SF affiliates another option would be to invite the Edmonton gravity pope location. (Although I'm not sure if the ownership structure would allow for one location to be an affiliate but not another.)

Not really a workable solution, unfortunately.

That's a shame. I live in edmonton and that's probably the only store I know of that carries SF brands.. unless you count HighGrade which carries a couple

I kind of assumed as much. That's too bad.

Haven (By Grant McEwan) also carries a few SF approved brands.

The biggest thing with Gravity Pope for me is the quality of the footwear selection, which is huge compared to the current Vancouver/Victoria affiliates. They do shoes probably better than almost any other affiliate IMO.
