Does IWC make a smaller version of that Portuguese? I absolutely love the look of that watch, but a 41mm watch would swallow my small wrist.
They did make a so-called 'small' Portuguese years ago, using a Jaeger LeCoultre movement, but it was discontinued. I forget the model number, but I bet you could Google it easily.
Have you tried on a normal-sized Portuguese? It may not wear as large as you imagine.
Also, it's worth noting that the dial design and case shape of the Portuguese really aren't that unique--at least, they weren't originally. Many mid-century watches were styled similarly. It was the size and use of a pocketwatch movement that made the watch special.
