Trepanier looked great in the look he was going for - over the top, blue-blood **** you chic.
Foo looked very well put together but too conservative, you need flash to win here.
Same can be said for the young kid. Less put together but not enough "wow" factor.

Overall they all looked pretty good. I can't argue with Dan winning, especially having seen some of his other looks.

Should we really take the opinion of someone who thinks dressing preppy is "blue blood" seriously. And he def wasn't going for "chic" so WTF. I mean congrats to all who participated but please.

The other three were, to me, totally out of the running.

I could not tell the shoes were pointy; small resolution on that website.

I kind of empathize with her.

Continue to be delusional. But hey, maybe "cigarette burns on your suit sleeves" will be in style next year. Perhaps your should enter the contest?

Huh? I'm just saying you don't have the actual frame of references to classify the outfits properly. Why would that be delusional? As for my style it has nothing to do w. Esquire or Americana and you know it.

You are saying you think this forum has a pro-asian bias? That's interesting.

not sure bias is the right word, but I think there's a "crush" for sure. Maybe I just haven't been around here long enough to understand the group's mentality.

In this case, I don't think race has anything to do with it. The idea that there is some deference given to someone on this site because he is asian is kind of amusing to me. I haven't experienced love like that since I was picked for the math team in elementary school.

Trepanier looked good. He is just copying every trick from a Ralph Lauren look-book, but that is OK. After all, all the guys got their look from someone including Foo (who, like always, had a well put together classic wardrobe)

About 4 years ago hardly anyone was under 30 in the Esquire contest, now everyone is under 27 and one is 18. I can only imagine that each of the contestants style will only get better and better over the next few years.

The crush has much to do with the amount of MTM or bespoke clothing that the most vocal Asian posters have. The clothing looks better than OTR stuff, especially given their mostly thin/athletic bodies, and thus a lot of praise/crush/what have you. If MTM/bespoke stuff was as cheap here, we'd all stand a better chance at looking better.

I would be interested in seeing what the winners from years further on back were like.
