I wear clarks but for $40, that is a bargain. Wonder what the quality is like.

I highly doubt that. The current Clarks are made in Vietnam/Thailand. The McCallisters I saw were made in Italy. Unless Clarks opened up an Italian factory, I doubt it.

There's a difference between a clothing company and a factory. Clarks could just be using a factory in Italy instead of their usuals in Vietnam.

I don't know why J.Crew would ask Clarks to make their DB's, just doesn't make business sense (seeing how big J.Crew already is) unless they wanted to do a collab

I'm going to replace the laces on my beeswaxes when I get them, Do you guys think leather laces:

(not these exact ones)
or gold-colored boot laces like this:

I'm kinda leaning leather. Plus I can cut them to size.

i bought some DBs in sand today. although they were a bit snug in the width, i think they are too big after wearing them for 10 minutes. length-wise i slip around a bit if i wear "normal" socks, even more with dress socks of course.

so should i size down half a size or should i wear an insole.
i can still exchange them.

Im a size 7 wide in Sperry.

What size should I get in CDBs, Im assuming they are UK sizes. Is the sizing the same as Doc Martins?

Clarks DBs are sold in american sizes in the US, but you can see the corresponding UK size on the shoe. My US size 11 dbs say 10.5 UK on them, which could account for them feeling more like an 11.5 than an 11.

IMO getting the same size that you get chucks in is ideal.

Just got myself some tan DBs, already had the Sand Suede ones and chocolate Point Takens. Somehow the leather on the Point Takens looks like some kind plastic spray paint.... Might try to find some brown suede ones.

Robert, I'm basically just saying what most people agree on, that the desert boots run larger than tagged. I don't agree with those who suggest going down a full size though- a half size is enough. Sizing down too much also somewhat compromises the shape, I think.

I tried sizing down a full size for the sand suede...did not work out...
