I don't get the Fred Perry love. When I was in London, I tried one on. The fabric was so thin that you could see my pasty white epidermis through it. I've seen better garbage at Old Navy.

Agreed. Hard to explain but a tee shirt usually looks better for some reason. And polos tucked in usually look alot worse.

There is a lot of different materials/fabrics etc. in the Fred Perry line.

Whenever I see Fred Perry it just makes me think of the cheap faux retro mod shops down Carnaby St - didn't think it had much of a following in the states.

I don't like collarless shirts, so I'd rather wear a polo than a t-shirt.

I think that can look pretty cool. I like taking style cues from the mods and like the skin you posted, I find that fit really makes a big difference. Your dislike for the polo can be applied to numerous menswear pieces in my opinion. Just think about all the ugly ill fitting suits one might see on a daily basis.

Also, does anyone know what the sweater knit version of a polo style shirt is called? They were really popular in the 50's and I know they have a different name than "polo shirt".

hmmm...I like both polo shirts AND that hat. Stetson...? I recall my Grandfather having one just like that. He wore it with Brooks Brothers suits.

I dislike polo shirts and T-shirts. I will on occasion wear a polo shirt in public, albeit with great reluctance. I will not wear a T-shirt in public.

I hate any and all shirts worn outside the waistband, including both those that are designed to be so worn and those that are not.
