So far this summer we haven't seen too many days over about 85F. Has been humid though the last month or so.

I saw a jacket in an ad maybe where it had the type of closure on the front

I actually made a jacket for someone where it had that idea, but on the sleeve, where there is a **** and then 1 double faced button a couple inches up from the end.

and SoCal weather has been unseasonable mild, with day highs in the 80s, and eves cool enough to throw on a light jacket. I was down in Huntington Beach sat nite and it was downright fuckin cold by 8pm

Just noticed Levis is selling selvedge 501's on their site. Could be good for just under $100.

501 STFs actually fit pretty good on me, I just can't get past that hideous color.

Yeah, never liked the STF's for that reason. I think these new ones are rinsed like the jcrew ones though, and still have a dark indigo color.

This could be perfect thread for this, instead of starting a new one. In China, there are handmade cloth shoes that have always been very popular, everyone used to wear them, but now its a very working class/peasant or senior citizen sort of look (photo below). At the same time, they really don't look that different from the espadrilles from zara or even higher end spots that some love to wear around here. They are pretty cheap and great to just slip on in the summer. I got a pair as a gift and feel there's great potential in them to change up my casual wear every now and then or as an alternative to my chucks, but kinda feeling if I want to wear them in China without being laughed at, need to dye or paint the bottoms. Is anybody with me on this? Am I crazy to try?

Yeah, its warm for you guys, actually, damn hot for you Grund, but it's WINTER here! F'cking winter, and its in the 30s(C)/90s(F)!

I can't wear my any of my jackets or sweaters again for 10 months. If it gets much hotter, I won't even be wearing my boots, jeans will be for nights only.

It's not that I hate summer, I like the seasons and the change, you can vary your fits, but we don't have seasons, we go from kinda cold (1 month), to hot(3/4 months), to ball sweat showing through your pants hot (4 months), back to hot again ...

And that makes me a sad panda.

Yep, it sucks, because I love winter styles.

You give me hope that I'll get through summer rocking my Skulls and W+H too.

I'm no expert but I've liked what I've seen from Ervell.
