How many pairs if socks do you own?

Around ten pairs. All wool; seven pairs are argyle with the other three being plain navy which is all a man really needs.Originally Posted by Standard Toaster

Just the plain coloured ones :
- for summer : black, light gray, dark gray, dark blue, mid blue, dark brown, light brown, each time at least four pairs. Then a few pairs with "fancy" colours like red, yellow, purple, etc...
- for winter : same colors as above, and same numbers of pairs in each colour. Also a few pairs with "fancy" colours as above.
Add to this some 20 + pairs with patterns and all the ones used for sports.
My oh my, suddenly I come to realise that there are way over 100 pairs of socks in this house.
Should I consult.....?

I guess Navy socks don't count either.
Actually, I've been planning on picking up some fun socks. Just some brighter colors in plain. Maybe reds, orange, and yellows.
