I didn't love the movie (though the latter half was better), but I thought he was dressed well.
Zooey Deschanel needs to play against type soon to remain interesting as an actress. She's wearing out the quirky indie girl schtick (even if it comes naturally to her).

I agree with only the second part of this post (because I loved the entire movie). Soon she'll be typecasted just as Michael Cera is as the awkward quirky kid.

good news, she's single now! *sarcasm* I didnt think Leavitt's outfits were anything special, but he looked like how his character would actually look (in terms of music interest + age + whatever other bullshit I'm selling here). The movie was great, we're gonna see it again next week which is the first film of 2009 I will have made an effort to see a second time

most movies have all the best scenes in the previews and it ends up sucking.
500 Days doesnt have a great preview but the movie is great, really well done and written
Much better than Juno, which was ok, but Diablo Cody writing Juno's character made it annoying and just way too self aware for a 16 year old.

This. I really enjoyed (500) Days of Summer. It had a lot less of the pretentious-indie-ness than you would expect.

I don't see referencing those bands as a sign of "indie filmmaking". I'd surmise that whoever wrote the script based it on something that happened to him and those bands were probably a part of his life so he put all that into the story. God forbid you ever reference JATMC in a film and get painted with the indie-brush.
