Why is wool/silk summery? I would think it's wintery, but less so than pure wool.

If you are speaking about the Atkinsons poplin, they are indeed for Fall/Winter. I don't expect this works everywhere but in the tri-state area of NY/NJ/CT this sort of tie has a certain shimmer to it that mirrors the heat waves associated with our summers. A handful of well dressed men would wear these as summer ties because they have a strong color and "lift" the dullness of a cotton poplin or tropical worsted suit. They say, if you look at poplin ties at just the right angle you can hear cicadas.

They are traditionally a summer tie. I don't know why that is. If I had to speculate, I would say that they are dry like linen, but with a dull sheen (also like linen), and not fuzzy at all (like a winter wool or cashmere tie). They really don't look or feel anything like a standard wool tie.

That is a SOLID solid navy tie collection.

I'm not a big fan of crazy patterns/colors on ties. I think one could build their entire wardrobe around navy ties.

I should take a pic but counting all the different fabrics off the top of my head, I have solid navy in:

- Grenadine silk

- Silk knit (x 2)

- Wool (x2; one is darker, more midnight)

- Wool knit

- Silk/cotton twill

- Thinwhale corduroy (cotton/cashmere blend)

- Linen/silk blend

I think that's it but I may be forgetting some.
