Do You Wear Pink?

I was just curious as to how many of you wear pink and for those that do, what are your reasons?

I'm currently looking at a guy in florescent pink knitwear and the question of "˜why' just came to me.

Myself, I have no pink clothing, in fact the only thing I own that has any pink in it, is a set of silver rectangular cufflinks, each with four black squares and four pink squares, they rarely get used.

I associate pink with candy and little girls. This is a good place for the colour to belong.

I mean this question with no more connotation then "˜who wears green' would imply, so I don't want to hear any "˜you're not comfortable with your sexuality' rubbish. I just think pink looks... silly.

Meh, I wear pink quite often, and pink, just like any other color, can be worn very tastefully, or very garishly. A pink tie goes great with a mid-grey suit.

It is indeed another colour, but so is diarrhoea brown.

Look what you've done.

Now someone is going to have to go on a tirade to explain yet again how pink was once a real man's colour, along with lots of analogies to the name Leslie. I didn't have a can of worms smilie, but this is close enough. It tastes the same in any case.

Yeah I wear pink, and don't ever read anything into it. Is a navy suit and light pink shirt not a classic combination? I worked with a Lithuanian girl who used to always say "I think you're very brave for wearing pink, men really shouldn't wear it...". She was quite, quite mental though. Still is, in fact. And I therefore feel justified in my choice.

I said nothing about it not being a masculine colour, apart from the association with little girls... but that is just ‘one’ image it conjures up for me. It’s not the point I was making.

I don’t believe it looks good as a clothing colour. There aren’t many colours you can’t make a suit from, but pink is one of them.

I did fear it might get a few backs up. I go back to the original question of ‘…for those that do, what are your reasons?’

I fear I’m alone in thinking pink is not a suitable colour for the wardrobe.

I have many brown shoes; it was a mere joke that it can’t be justified simply because it is a colour like any other.

Colour theory and associations thereof is a huge field and one could apply almost any meaning to anything; I have a couple of purple knit sweaters and really like the colour, however I get odd looks in France (easy...) because purple is believed to be a funereal colour.

Now, black suits, on the other hand...

I wear a smaller or bigger touch of pink in many circumtances;
Pink tie with a blazer or a grey suit
Light Pink or white+pink stripe shirt with the same above, but no pink tie
Pink polo shirt with navy or tan linen bermudas
Bright pink linen button down shirt with black slacks.

Love it. But can understand those you don't, although i'll always think they fear it is a girlish color;
