What's out there in terms of Japanese brands that aren't a.) High-End Designers many of us already know (and can't afford) b.) Aren't Repro companies (not interested/already know of enough of them) I'm talking more along the lines of middle-end, not crazy expensive (like 45RPM) but not dirt cheap (like all the knock-off's on Yesstyle and such). So far two I can think of stuff along the lines of Hare, and Lad Musician, which sell pretty standard but nicely stylized and cut for a much slimmer standard. But that's it. I'm thinking that has to be affordable (Fillipa-K, Acne, APC, price range) brands that there that I am simply unaware of existing. All the denim companies know their stuff, but I'm not interested in their non-denim clothing. Specifically, I'm looking into jackets/knits/outerwear, and I guess I'm looking more for brands along the lines of Lad Musician and Hare. EDIT: Some Lad Musician stuff I like. 1 2 3 (The jacket) sweater

Atsui carries interesting brands in the Acne/FillipaK/APC price range, with interesting designs. I'm thinking about Man of Moods, Mr. Olive, etc. Only thing is, from my experience, their stuff runs pretty short (and small/tight, but that's expected from a *** brand w/ *** sizing).

Lad Musician, Factotum and N Hoolywood are pretty "high end"

I'd go with stuff like Hare, some WJK stuff, N4....etc

I've had pretty good luck buying Haversack at reasonable (i.e., EG-range) prices from Japan. The style isn't for everyone, though...

Hare is a copy-cat brand.....just look at their shoes offered for proof.

what about Muji Labo? If you want 45 rpm, the related Chimala brand is bit cheaper.

there's a ton of 'cheaper' stuff that still looks well made on Rakuten
I dont really know how the stuff is though, because ive never touched it or been to japan for longer than 3 hours

Then you should check out this seller on ebay. He (Jun) also runs pavementclothing.jp and is a very friendly and helpful guy. My shirt arrived from him in 3 days! He doesn't have much left at the moment, but he's getting FW in soon. Also check out ARKnets, but you'll need a proxy. It's all about half the price of stuff on oki-ni. I'm telling you, Haversack is probably the most well-made stuff I've ever owned, although Mister Freedom is tops. I'll get my Haversack SS chambray back from the tailor tomorrow, so I'll post up a fit pic.
