I feel that the jacket could work on its own, but we'll see.

Just checked. Mine is Lesser 30942 11/12oz worsted in a higher contrast black and white. The teeth are more distinct, probably because it is a worsted rather than because the scale is any bigger. But I can't tell because I don't know the scale of your photo.

Aren't you concerned that when you wear this, people will stop you and ask why you didn't get the Minnis version? Not to mention the embarrassed-for-you looks you'd get from the entire floor if you dropped by Mark from Plano's offices?

Poo and I are having Minnis 0656 made up: it's a woolen flannel. The size of the teeth is larger than that Lesser, I have swatches of both.

I really like that Lesser, and might get that in something later.

If you are looking for others in the similar genre, the Fox houndstooth is great.

I really don't like that worsted houndstooth.

Flusser once had a cream & brown houndstooth in a tropical/silk blend that would have made a killer summer suit. Only sharp/distinct houndstooth I have ever liked.

oh well. I like it - it seems like a perfect casual suit cloth to me, but we shall see. The fuzzy versions have a completely different effect, though are nice as well.

Vox, not that it's a bad thing but all the flannels in the Classic bunch are worsteds, not woollen, and different animals from the flannel found elsewhere offered by J&J Minnis. It is still very nice, however, and one of the few worsteds left for sale by HFW. There used to be many more.

Anyway, I think it's still quite nice and it is even a bit fuzzier again than that picture shows it to be.

Wow...that's fantastic. I am delighted to be corrected.

A worsted flannel that has the look of a woolen is the best of both worlds.

So, 0327 is also a worsted? That's what's coming up next for me...a DB.

I think the Lesser is swell, and handle is also wonderful on it.

Nein, 0327 is a woollen. The number is from the Flannel bunch and they're all woollens. The Classic bunch is entirely worsted and some are finished so as to look like 'real' flannel, i.e. woollen flannel. There used to be far more worsted flannels towards the end of the Classic bunch, but they've been phased out over time. 03xx is from the woollen Flannel bunch, the weights can vary quite a bit on this one 06xx is from the Classic bunch, which is a true 13 oz worsted either with a hard finish or nap (flannel-esque) You can actually see the word worsted on your swatch of 0656 above. It would be nice if HFW just put all their flannels, worsted or otherwise, in a single bunch. Other merchants do this. You'll actually be in a position now to directly compare similalrly-weighted worsted and woollen flannels. PS 0327 is even nicer again and no matter what you prefer, 0656 just isn't available as a woollen from J&J Minnis :-( I look forward to pictures of both being made up and completed :)
