I see. I had noticed several shops in Japan carrying both Mr. Olive and Julius at the same shop. So even though the two brands look quite different, I had assumed there might be some amount of overlap in the market space they occupy.
Boutiques typically have brands at at least 2 pricepoints, to reach different customers (or customers in different moods.) For example, the Archive in San Francisco carries Nice Collective next to MA+. Some stores, like Blackbird in Seattle, carry a brands in up to 5 pricepoints, from Obey to Odyn Vovk. Boutiques across the country carry Shades of Greige as an entry level product.
