new pants would be ideal

the shoes go with the top yes

the pants don't go with anything really, 2 different tones of brown isn't atrractive and brings bodily waste to mind, and they are far too baggy to wear with such a fitted top, I.E. we can see where the waist line/band is even though the shirt isn't tucked in

(tshirt is madewell, btw)

if it didn't fall in front of your face it would work well, but i'm guessing that's the point of it in general

I don't think thats necessary if he's happy with the general fit and feel. Though I'd suggest having them tapered below the knee to a slightly smaller opening, and also hemming to remove a break.

I know we all love skinny/slim fits, but looser baggy fits can look good too. They're a linen pant, so they're meant to be airy. A slight change in the aesthetic and they'll still have that causal, airy look about them, but they'll appear more contemporary and less grandpa-ish.

They fit fine in the waist, but I agree that the knee and below is pretty big and could be taken in. The pants are really old. The color is an olive with a tinge of brown.

Definitely no. Then you'll really look like you walked out of a 1940s movie where baggy legs and high waists were the standards on trousers.

Should I wear some Incotex chino linos with 1.25" cuffs in light khaki instead?

Looks good as is. I wear my polos untucked, but your shirt looks fine tucked.
