Hi, what would you choose 3717, 3706, Spitfire chronograph or 3748 mecaquartz and why? I know the meca is a different animal but I' curious.

Please don't get me wrong, but those are exactly the opinions I don't need.

i get you wrong, but if one of them is a portugieser in rose or white gold, then go for it. ss is nice, too.

Hi,

out of these the 3706. I prefer a Portguese though...

Best, Horatio

what difference does it make? is there a significant difference in quality between these IWC models, or is it all about looks? do you have to be at some higher level of enlightenment to have an opinion on how a watch looks?

I would go for the 3706, pretty sober and it will remain a classical sports watch for many years to come. Movement is very decent and works pretty precisely.
But if you are not specifically looking for a sports watch i would recommend a Portuguese.

I voted none of the above. I would personally go for 3714 in 01 or 17.

No, not enlightenment, but those are sporty watches, quite similar in look (except maybe the Spitfire) main differences are diameter and movement, that's why I'm not interested in generic opinions or in a Portugieser (and let me say that rose or white gold is IMHO subdued tackyness, the worst one

If you're interested only in WIS opinions, as it seems you may be, and you are going to be turning your nose up at "generic opinions," then you should probably be asking this question on TimeZone and not here.

So this thread went off to a pretty good start.
