Read Michael Crichton's "Next". Excellent book on modern day issues, with a writing style I love. R.I.P.
Read "Smith of Wootton Major" and "Farmer Giles of Ham" by J.R.R. Tolkien. Used to be a Tolkien fan, but couldn't make it all the way through the Lord of the Rings or the Silmarillion. Great short stories, maybe I'll give him another shot.
Read "Hey Rube" by Hunter S. Thompson. Didn't really like it. Don't like sports, either, so maybe that's it. He's extremely interesting, but I just didn't like this book. Funny thing is, this probably the most 'real', personal book by him. What's that say? I dunno. (See the movie 'Gonzo')
Read "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" by Hunter S. Thompson. Excellent. No other commentary necessary.
Currently about 2/3's of the way through 'Alas, Babylon', by Pat Frank. Excellent so far. Let's see if the Titor comparison is real.
