If you like IPAs yes.

Put it this way, imagine a west coast Double IPA, double the malt, hops, and alchohol, then add a little more. That's what this is. I've had it a few times and every time I look for something other than just really good standard WCDIPA flavors, I can't find them. Perhaps its the alcohol, perhaps its just that those flavors dominate the palate but its just a big DIPA bomb.

Doubt it would win any tasting competitions.

OKAY,

switching to Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye.

Can I just say this? Here is what I love about West Coast beers. I go from a TIPA (which is from KY, but indulge me here, its modeled after a West Coast DIPA) to a regular IPA and its still just a wonderfully piney, citrusy, malty hop bomb. FACKING. BLISS.

Seriously though, Hop Rod is truly world class. Wish I had more than one bottle of this bad boy.

'07 Haute Tubee by Stefania. Simple and cheap red blend, easy to drink. Taking a three day weekend, so might have to crack a second bottle tonight.

Had a Dark and Stormy last night but it was made with crap ingredients so it was only meh. I do like the drink though. Anybody have a recommendation for a good ginger beer and a dark rum?
