Yeah, the lightness of the brown kind of threw me off, but they have some wear, so I'm guessing that the color has become less saturated, or it may be the camera. Whatever. At $50 shipped, I'm copping them.

On the topic of desert taupe, can anyone attest to how they look with darker denim? I have a pair of beeswax but they're a little too dark for some reason (it seems like everyone else's are a brighter gold color) although they do look good with khakis/chinos. I know that sand suede is loved by plenty of people for wear with denim but desert taupe seems a nice intermediate. What do you guys think? Would it work with dark denim?

I pair mine with dark denim and they don't look off to me. My pair of desert taupes have also kinda darkened unevenly after months of use, which gives it more character imo.

If you're thinking about getting some, make sure you buy them at least a half size smaller. I just bought an size 12 and have to return them.

Oh, I always figured the crepe soles made it easier to sneak up on victims. Guess I overthought that meme.

They do. I can't tell you how many lovelys I've surprised since getting my desert boots!
