Our replacement Florence Knoll sofa came in a few days ago. As some of you might recall, we originally had it in cream leather. Unfortunately, the leather was damaged on arrival and Knoll eventually agreed to replace it. We decided to go with fabric the second time around. After getting some very helpful advice in a previous thread, we settled on Knoll's Cato fabric in Ivory.

The new sofa is slightly darker than the old one, and doesn't have buttons between the tufts. What do you think?

It looks like a government surplus couch from the 60's.

I like it mafoofan, and personally think the new material looks better than the leather.

We were going for the opposite of this:

Thanks. I agree. The pronounced texture of the fabric contrasts really nicely with the straight lines and angles of the form. Anyway, after seeing how sloppy Knoll's leather stitching is, we could never have gone back to leather, damaged or not.

Very nice, but is it just my eyes, or does the top of the middle back cushion and the front of the right bottom cushion look like it has some material pulling funny?

Oh no. I don't see it and I don't want to see it . . .

I too see some material puckering in the middle back cushion. It's nothing to really worry about though, gives it some character.

Just call it a benefit of being handmade, like rippled sleeveheads.

Are you guys talking about the rippling along the top edge of the cushion because of the tufting? All the cushions have that, no?

The puckering I see is in the third quadrant of the middle pillow. See it now? Looks like there is a puckering press mark or something. Could just be a run in the fabric, not sure.

So it's not my eyes? Middle back cushion, top row, third from the left? Puckered tight at the top which makes the panel sag? Edit:

You were posting this at the exact same time. Exactly what I'm talking about.

I'd probably see if they can replace the cushion, no?

To me, it looks like the bottom right cushion has a pull at the front. Maybe it's just me.

I was going to mention the exact same thing, but wasn't sure of those were shadows making it appear as such. Seems like Knoll really needs to improve their quality control.
