We're looking forward to putting a healthy measure of a 1.75L Kirkland Signature vodka away tonight. Thoughts on mixers?

That is Grey Goose btw. I'd suggest making gimlets.

Good call, Piobaire. I'm trying to broaden our mixology a bit. Lately I've been waking my wife Long Islands (gasp--albeit with top-shelf stuff) and vodka pineapples. Last year on a trip with the guys to Vegas, we fell in love the Costco stuff, and I was told then as well it was Grey Goose. Then it was gone...

A few nights ago, I cracked open a 4-5 year old bottle of my first batch of mead. I tried a bottle at the one year mark, and it tasted of nothing but yeast. Since then, it apparently turned into a beautiful alcoholic concoction that I wish I had more of....

My dad had his first foray into mead last year as well. After the one year mark, it was pretty gross. But he said he was putting down a bottle to drink the day of my wedding, which nobody has any clue about. I guess he's on a homebrew forum where a guy started a batch of mead the day his kids were born for consumption at THEIR wedding day, so they mead was 25-29 years old by the time it was consumed. Word is it was heavenly.
