and **** sidney crosby

this will be a tough series for detroit with Lidstrom probably not at 100% and Datsyuk not playing Game 1 and probably 2.

I'm the pessimist in Detroit and am saying Pens in 7

I really can't stand Crosby, and the amount of goals he is scoring this playoffs... With Datsyk out, Helms is my favorite player on the Red Wings, he's all over the place.

Shave the pubes off your face, and let Det. win...

I grew up about 35 minutes away from where Crosby lived... and I played against him throughout my 'career'

He IS over commercialized... which I hate...

But he is also unquestionably one hell of a hockey player, doesn't take **** on the ice, and is doing great things for the sport.

Seems to me people are hating just to hate.

I'm not trying to take away from him as a hockey player, he's definitely a great player, I just can't stand him.

Malkin v Zetterberg at the end was pretty humourous.

Agree on your first point, not so much on the last two. He will definitely cry to the refs and punch you in the balzac from behind, though.

I took the unpopular route of pens in 6, because I hate hate hate osgood. but if Pittsburgh keeps playing like they did, and detroit keeps shutting down Lebron Crosby, and pitt keeps playing emotional, its going to be wings in 5.

Unless the Pens find something playing on home ice, this isn't going to be much of a contest...

how can you hate osgood. he has his ups and downs, but the dude always delivers. what more does he have to do to earn respect in this city.

Allow me.

in no particular order

1) since 1993 or whenever he started the redwings have gone through an unprecedented stretch of success. Playing in front of some of the defensemen he has, and some of the offense he has worked with, osgood only faces an average of like 20 shots a game (compared to say 30 for anyone else playing against the wings). That, combined with the fact that the rest of the team is so dominant he wins a lot of games. He lets in a goal or so a game, his GAA is pretty decent, (under 2 or so I think), however, when your only facing 20 a game, its not too bad, but when you still let in one or two, your SAVE % gets low. Thats my gripe, everyone talks about his GAA, but his save % is a good couple of points lower than say brodeur. If I played with the players he has, I bet I could put up similar #'s. Its great that he only lets in one or two a game, but not when thats only on 15-20 shots.

The biggest regular season game I can remeber was when the wings shot like 60+ on khabibulin back in winnipeg. Osgood would have let like 10 goals in.

2) he is a terrible regular season goalie and this year was no exception. See above, they find ways to win but no thanks to him.
3) that said, he is an excellent playoff goalie, but it gets my goat that he doesnt turn it on untill the playoffs. then again, it chaps ****** that the entire NHL doesnt turn it on untill the playoffs.

4) he had to go find himself for 10 days? WTF.

5) Everyone needs to get off the osgood bandwagon. You love him when he is winning and loathe him when he sucks. At least I can say I have hated him since I was 14.

6)As for all this hall of fame nonsense, the NHL pretty much lets anyone into the HOF so why not him.

So finally, let me ask you. If Osgood was the starting goalie for say the tampa bay lightning, do you think we would be having that discussion?
