yeah, already have a pair of thin black rimless. Looking for something cooler. Trying to find a store in nyc with boss.

Boss is distributed by Safilo so most stores should carry it. Boutiques might not carry it because it is not exclusive, but most independent opticals will carry it. Lens Crafter and Pearle probably wont carry it because Safilo is their number 1 competition....

I dont know that exact model, but Boss, Inface and Bvlgari make similar styles (fronts). But all 3 have temples that are slightly thicker than the picture... Hopefully someone else can chime in here!

Let me start with style...
Style is very personal. Some of us on SF will want conservative, while others want funky, while someone else wants unique eyewear. A hair stylist will wear something different than a C.E.O. It is hard to say what will be a good overall style for everyone because shapes of faces, jaw lines and hair lines are different. It is best to try on a bunch to see what works for you.

Brand...
Brand is also very personal. There are tons of brands our there than range from $2 to $2000. What works for me might not work for you. Some stores/people try to sell a lifestyle, selling only certain brands and styles. IMO, I dont try to sell a lifestyle, I try to sell something that suits your lifestyle. I'm not going to sit down a surfer and convince him he needs Cartiers, and I'm not going to sit down a C.E.O and convince he should wear something retro funky in his office.

But let me know what kind of lifestyle you have, and I'll suggest some.

Maybe a range of examples? I don't really have a set lifestyle (student). I tend to like unique and retakes on classic. I liked a lot of mykita models I've handled.

Mykita makes excellent frames. If you like the modern/classic look try... Gotti Martin & Martin has only acetate frames that use classic shapes with modern lines Lindberg's new acetate collection is a little bit more technical Ic! Berlin is also a bit technical with their temple design Reiz is also a clean collection Mind you, these are not cheap pieces. If you are looking for something a bit more conservatively priced, try Inface and Prodesign which both have recently released a this kind of style of frames. Also Hugo by Hugo Boss has a decent collection but nothing near the ones mentioned above.... Another option if you want to be a bit more unique, try to find vintage eyewear. I just met an individual that bought 13 pieces of eyewear at a garage sale for $3 a piece. They were all vintages. Great find/buy IMO.

I think you are talking about the vintage ones that are super round. I dont know where would be the best place to get them but chances are a B&M store who has been around for a long time. I have some but they are my house brand.

I also found a newer company online that has a line called "windsor" which is an inexpensive brand. I have no idea where you would find them though.

1.) The site I saw that sold the newer ones do not have the style you're looking for.

2.) I am selling them. (there is a link in my sig, no.25) It is just a super round frame. We produced it 20 yrs ago under the name "Kimo". It is a no name house brand. But the quality is better than most frames made today.

3.) good price? That is subjective. Depends on the brand and the quality and from what site you buy it from. If you find me a frame you want to buy online I might be able to tell you if you are over paying, but again, its subjective to how much youare willing to pay.

That does look like him...

It is, in fact, me. The glasses in question were made by Rodenstock--but they were discontinued years ago. You find similar glasses elsewere. My current pair is very similar, but made bespoke by Meyrowitz in Paris.

I just read somewhere that they have 2 locations in New York and they were robbed 5 times. It will now be hard for them to get insurance. It's a shame that it has come to this...

The Paris store is a seperate entity; they split decades ago. The NY stores do not do bespoke.
