Jeff Martone also has a bunch of vids online about KB basics.

I really want another 1.5 pood too. And a 2 pood. And a 1 pood poodlet for juggling.

it isn't really IME. well, learning to do it with one hand helps teach the turkish getup, and informs the kettlebell clean and jerk, so it's good to practice anyway I think.

I wouldn't agree with that in regards to the bent row. I see no difference in weight distribution between a KB and a DB in the bent row.

+1 the ballistic effect is most felt in drills that move the weight at high velocity, such as the swing/snatch... for an exercise as slow as the bent row/press it's not really there.

Since it's essentially moving through a fixed plane, I couldn't understand it either. But I'm a newb.

Got any links to good tutorial vids and articles. I've found a few things but they're only slightly informative at best.

Imagine holding a kettlebell and a dumbell over your head. The weight distribution is totally different with a kettlebell. Moreover, it's a little different with a kettlebell depending on how you lift it every time, and requires active stabilization even with a slow and steady lift.

I guess it's a differently shaped weight that will definitely expose a poor pressing form if you have one. It does sit differently on your arm and that requires you to change your force application somewhat.

I also think it requires much more of an effort to stabilize than a dumbell

When pressing, yes; when doing a bent-over row, no.

Saw someone using the kettle's last night. He was doing some sort of snatch but was letting go of the handle and catching it with the other arm on the way down. WTF is that?
