I always think of Capri more as a honeymoon spot whereas Rome is alive and kickin'.
Thoughts?
Need to make a weeklong trip this year with some buddies, all in early 20's...I was thinking Lisbon but I went only two years ago. Haven't been to the south of France but not sure this is the group to go with.
Trying to find a balance between Capri and Ibiza / Cancun.

Yeah, I am on the line, the perfect thing for me is one year a sit on the beach vacation, one year a move around and see things vacation.
I think you guys will love holland. Great food (not so much the fancy food, but the middle of the line food is great) pretty, nice people, good museums.
So for a favorite: any big historical city with beautiful architecture and a great public transit system. Bike friendly would be good too. I guess that leaves some options.

I haven't been out of the US in 3 years now. Keep turning buisness trips into vacations. So I have vacationed in Miami for the last 3 years LOL
I really like going to Nassau. I also really like going to Zurich and Budapest.
I need to really do on a proper vacation soon!
Of course I am going on the Southern Rock Cruise in January.

I love all kinds of places from a quiet Maine lake in the summer to Lake Garda in Italy. But for a peaceful, relaxing, sunny spot, my wife and I love Zihuatanejo, Mexico. It still has the look and feel of old Mexico without massive high-rise hotels. I've often thought of living there.

BTW, the picture I pasted above for St. Thomas was from the website of the villa we rented for two weeks back in '05, so we got that exact view. 100 feet up on a cliff overlooking St. John and the BVI. Awesome. St. Thomas is relatively urban with stuff to do like restaurants (Craig & Sally's in Frenchtown http://www.craigandsallys.com/

No one likes to go to the snow capped mountains?
I go skiing/boarding once/year at minimum usually to a family friend's beautiful, secluded cabin 20min from Breckenridge lifts (though we rarely ski there--mostly Copper and A-Basin on snow days). Beyond the skiing, being in a frozen forest with a roaring wood burning furnace and fireplace... just wonderful. Alternatively, I go to Whistler as I have friends & family in Vancouver (which is also a fantastic city with amazing food).
As for beaches: I prefer Hawaii to the Caribbean
And for general awesomeness/diversity of cities and amazing landscape: Beunos Aires + Patagonia (Bariloche especially)
