Agreed. I voted purist, but I still don't know which side I fall on. I feel I am a purest about my personal style - certain things I like and don't like - but, I don't conform at all to what I would consider SF rules.

To be frank, I'm not entirely clear what I originally meant by 'purists' and 'eclectics'. I just hoped you people would to the analytical/taxonomic work for me.

Then you need to modify your poll to display these options (examples in parentheses):

Eclectic Combiners (Voxsartoria, Phat Guido)
Stalwart Stalwarts (Manton)
Eccentric Haters (Mafoofan)
The Neapolitan Libertarian Brigade (Iammatt)
The Skinny Sleeve Syndicate (Most everyone else)
Skinny ****** (Skinny ******)

I surprised that the Purists aren't running away from it. I guess I would have formed this impression given how much the Purists dominate the MC board.

At any rate, given that I have both lime green and Nantucket Red chinos, I vote eclectics.

I should change the name to 'The Skinny Sleeve' ******.

Feels more like an old school gangster name.

'Oh no, the skinny sleeve's about to put him down for the dirt nap'

"Styleforumers in my faction don't like asking questions
Strictly gun testing, coke measuring
Giving pleasure in the Benz-ito
Hitting fanny, spending chips at Manny's
Hope you creeps got receipts, my peeps get dirty like cleats
Run up in your SF crib, wrap you up in your Rubinacci sheets
Six up in your wig piece, Matty Please"

How are we defining purists? I would have thought purist would denote the Esquire 1930s plates which are a riot of color and patterns all mixed in an outfit.

That poll would amount to some sort of popular proclamation of a dear leader, or duumvirate, or democracy (in the pejorative sense of the term, of course). Not quite what I had in mind -- I prefer to see cunning oligarchic factions backstabbing each other for the sake of some vague ideology.
