I'd like to get a nice pair of Cartier Santos prescription eyeglasses but the retail price (from the boutique) is pretty steep. I imagine there are deals to be had on cartier frames as there are with cartier watches. Can anyone point me in the right direction??

I've got a pair of Cartier sunglasses the frames are platinum and the stems/arms are made of wood. There my favorite pair of shades. Unfortunetly i paid retail which was around $1,200. I doubt they ever go on sale, im sure the supply is pretty limited on these. Maybe try calling a Cartier boutique and ask if they ever have sales? good luck.

I dont think i've ever seen a sale sign in Cartier but its worth a shot. Might just bite the bullet and pay full retail. They are really exquisite frames.

I have seen Cartier frames at 20-50% off in Korea. If you happen to drop by, or know anyone passing through, good deals can be had at Shilla Duty Free.

And yes, they do make very nice glasses. I really like their wooden arms.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I doubt Cartier will go on sale. The markup from wholesale to retail is so slim. I would be surprised if they gave you any discount at all. They are VERY strict about markups and suggested retail. From a retailers point of view, if someone steals one, you have to sell at least 5 more just to make your money back on the one.

Conclusion: dont hold your breath for a sale

Waited for 6 months for a sale until I finally gave in.

If you know someone who works for Cartier maybe employee discount will be the best way to go.

Oh... I suppose you are right. Their sunglasses are licensed out so that would make some sense. Their mark-up on their jewelry and accessories on the other hand...

I dont know what jewelry and accessories, but I do know that if someone is selling Cartier on sale at all, they are either stolen OR they are closing their account and want to make back a portion of their investment.
