Contest is now closed to new entries. Finalists will be announced soon. This spring, HowardYount.com is carrying its first flat-weave silk knit ties (made in Italy, finished by hand). The navy, red. and cream stripe (below) in particular turned out wonderfully, and I will be ordering new designs soon. To that end, we are running our first contest! TO ENTER: Post a drawing/mock-up of your unique design for a striped knit tie. THE PRIZE: A free Howard Yount knit tie, made in Italy to your design. And bragging rights. Rules All designs must be original designs. There is no limit to the number of entries per SF member. Entries must be posted by the deadline of 11:59 P.M. EDT April 30th, 2009. By submitting your design you agree to the use of said designs by HowardYount.com. A group of finalists will be selected by HowardYount.com, with the winner chosen among the finalists by a Styleforum member vote. Designs can use any two or more colors. HowardYount.com will endeavor to faithfully reproduce the winning design, with colors matched to a palette of around 40 shades. Navy, Red, and Cream Flat-woven Silk Knit

I really like that navy/cream/red too. Reminds me of a coral snake. I'd like something in a black/sea foam/dark green similar to the navy/cream/red above.

thank god I am not a designer, managed to be both derivative and not very good. Anyway, the green was meant to be more like a forest in spring time, and the black stripes probably thinner, the thing is meant to look spring like. Vmans blue one wins for me so far.

Whoops, I missed the part about stripes only. Thanks for the heads up TBSDSpaniard.

Here are my updated entries:

Top stripe is 12" up from the bottom end of the tie

BTW, if you dont use this, how much is it to make a sample?
