I don't think there's really anything categorically wrong with it, but it's a situation where patterned shirts almost always look better.

Agreed. White is just too stark against the earthy colors typical of odd jackets.

I wear a stark white shirt with a suit considerably less than 5% of the time. I only rarely feel inspired by them. They feel too corporate and too uniform to me. I used to have 2-3 of them, but I'm down to just one now and doubt I'll get any more, really. I do also have a white OCBD for casual wear though and might add to that, but even there, I'm more inclined to get different colours.

Aside from a pleated shirt for formal, I do not have any white shirts.

Being blondish and genetically related to Casper the ghost, my blue eyes are the only color on my face.

Consequently, I wear blues and reds most often.

Still, I am considering buying a white Jantzen just to have an emergency go-to in the closet.

I voted "occasionally" but it verges on "rarely". French cuff only -- all my barrel cuff dress shirts are non-white.

Now, for summer casual wear, I have a LOT of white shirts (both linen and cotton) -- maybe too many.

If I'm wearing a suit and tie, I always wear a white cotton shirt. I have tried blue in the past, but always want to get back to white.
