Cutler & Gross 0851 to replace Ray-Ban Aviators: Opinions?

So, I'd like to get a new pair of sunglasses to replace my gold Ray-Ban Aviators. As you can imagine, it is hard to find anything that fits me right and looks proportionate on my face. In other words, my sunglasses have to be big.

I saw these at Bergdorf the other day and almost snapped them up:

They're Cutler & Gross model 0851. They're huge (I think they're called the 'Goliath', actually). My only hang-up is the coloring. I'm pretty sure I'd like to go with black frames and brown gradient lenses (different from the pic), but I'm also considering the faux tortoise shell version. I hate faux tortoise shell in concept, but I like the way it looks.

Assuming I can get over that hang-up, would you recommend the black frames, the tortoise shell frames, or some other color?

Thanks!

Yes - need bold contrast and strong lines. Are they big?

Freaking huge. The fit is definitely spectacular. Unlike most frames, the ear pieces don't have to bend outward to accomodate me.

I think those are pretty awesome, but they're going to look ridiculous on your face.

He's not showing his face anymore.

Yeah, I know. I also know that any opinions solicited here aren't truly taken into consideration, but the fact of the matter remains that these Harry Carey specials will not look good on his face. While we may be spared, NYC won't be so lucky.

Another fan of Cutler & Gross here. Despite their British origin, they have been the best fit for my Asian face out of all other plastic frames I've tried.
