Actually it seems like the Foo has softened his stance on some things. Apparently you've come to accept white linen pocket squares and ecru shirts???

On side gusset shoes: I think they look odd on close inspection, but you can't really tell when worn so who cares? Must be great for people with arthritis who don't want to wear velcro sneakers.

Those are some of my key hate items, too!

There was a huge discussion of them in Matt's loafer thread a couple months ago. The vomitting started with one of Will's posts on A Suitable Wardrobe. He's usually very right, which is why I was stunned by his sweeping wrongness on the matter.

Nah. I have too much hate to be hurt. There's more coming; I'm just resting up.

What did you order?

I'm with foo on this, I've hated those since the first time I saw a pair. When I first went to Cleverley, they made a big push in favor of those and said they were a Cleverley signature shoe. George Glasgow once said, "If you remain a customer of ours long enough, you must get a pair one day," to which I said that in that case, I would be off to Foster's.

Maybe these are like knit ties and I will turn a corner, but I doubt it.

I never hated those things. I just don't and won't wear them; it is not inconceivable that I might one day.

But I'm done resting. I also hate:

Moonphase indicators
Anything grey if it's not made out of wool or some other hairy substance
Socks that match trousers or shoes
Khaki socks with khakis in particular
Fancy patterned socks
Pocket watches
Patterned trousers
Shiny belts
Watches with wide bezels
Watches with skinny lugs
Watches with fancy lugs
Shiny crocodile or alligator
Lizard skin
Pronounced pick-stitching on lapels
Scalloped headlights or headlights with more than four sides
Collar points that show with a jacket on
RLBL
Colors you wouldn't see in a J. Press catalogue
Single-dimpled ties
Ties without dimples
Wholecut shoes without medallions
Unconventional medallions
Nearly all RTW John Lobb shoes
Shiny scotch-grain cordovan
Thin-rimmed or rimless glasses
Metal-framed glasses
Titanium wedding bands

My girlfriend hates them and their square tips. I think she said she doesn't mind the pointed tip ones though. However if I'm wearing a jacket or a sweater...how would anyone know it's square tipped?

I hate it when people make jokes about knit ties looking like socks... their ignorance is so annoying.

Does Mariano like them? Have I been betrayed by both of you?

They look like the rubber clogs doctors and nurses wear around the hospital.
