Good question - I was thinking dark charcoal grey flannels. Admittedly, a less than perfect combination, but I love the cloth and don't think I could pull it off as a suit.

Why not? What is there to "pull off"?

In all seriousness, this cloth may be a bit flamboyant for office wear. For me at least.

Agree w/GDL. It seems like it's be a rather subdued jacket, in fact.

Could go with lighter grays nicely, as well as black. Of course, maroon trousers (e.g., cords) would work well with it.

Shucks - my impression as well. Maybe I'll do this as a DB. We'll see.

Actually I meant it as a question to your OP. Looks even easier to "pull off" as a sportcoat IMO than a suit (which as you say may look a little too much in conservative offices)

Would make a great DB suit.

I think of this as a kind of casual suiting. Fine for office wear if you work in the kind of place where the dress ranges from business casual on up, but not everyone shows up every day in pinstripes. But it is not the same thing as a chalk stripe suit.

Also good for wearing on the weekends.

But this is not conservative business dress, by any means.

Can't say that I see anything special in that cloth and if I may opine I would say that it is in the not beautiful camp but for a guy that wears button boots and Dinks, I would think a windowpane suit would be like a pair of khaki's. Can't say that I like windowpane suits though.

Ascot?

I ask because I fear an ascot craze might be in the offing among The Gentlemen. I feel that some sort of instigatory event occurred this afternoon.
